Juniors Kickboxing - Questions

Will my child get hurt?
As with any sport, there are risks. However, the classes are supervised by experienced instructors who take every opportunity to minimise the dangers and provide a safe training environment. Safety equipment is always worn when sparring. Parents are welcome to watch if they feel unsure of the situation.

What if they can't keep up?
We have 2 instructors and assistant instructors to make sure that all the juniors understand what they need to learn. With an age range of 5 to 13 years old, we already manage a wide span of learning ability. Physically, it will be demanding, but that's how exercise benefits the particpants.

Is it the same syllabus as the adults class?
The syllabus is the same, and they will wear the same belts as an adult, but the method of training is very different. We understand and work around the reduced attention span and use alternative methods to motivate and encourage the juniors.

Should I limit my child to one sport?
Not until the age of 14 or 15, at which stage any potential ability will show and need isolating. Until this age it is best to give as much variation in sports as possible, to give your child the best all-round abilities and to find the right sport for them.

Where is it? When are the classes?
Please see the Timetable for details.
